WoW Fishing Walkthrough

Fishing is a highly useful skill in world of warcraft.  Due to the fact that it can get you large amounts of free food that can be consumed for mana, health, or can be sold for currency.  During this walkthrough we will guide you to the maximum fishing level as quickly as possible.  This walkthrough will also contain cooking instructions, due to the fact that fishing and cooking work together.

Your fishing skill rate increases according to the number of successful catches that you make.  Here is an equation for how this works.

(current unmodified fishing level - 25) / 25 = # of fish needed to level, assuming a minimum of fish per catch.

Horde Instructions

1. Start at Bloodhoof Village in Mulgore.
2. Talk to Harn Longcast, buy Billiant Smallfish and Longjaw Mud Snapper recipes.
3. Travel to Stonebull Lake and start fishing.
4. Equip your rod, then attach the shiny bauble lure to your rod (this will increase your chance to catch fish.)
5. Take around forty minutes catching sixty Brilliant Smallfish.
6. By now you should have caught thirty Longjaw Mud Snappers. When you have sixty of them, cook them. You can travel back to Harn Longcast and use the fire next to him, or start your own.
7. Cook Brilliant Smallfish
8. At level fifty, start cooking Longjaw Mud Snappers
9. Go catch Longjaw Mud Snappers in the pond in Orgrimmar. This is because the drop rate is much better in Orgrimmar.
10. Somewhere in-between levels fifty and seventy learn journeyman cooking as well as fishing.
11. To raise your cooking up to one-hundred, you must catch at least thirty Longjaw Mud Snappers.
12. Travel to Tarren Mill in Hillsbrad. Go to Derak Nightfall and buy Bristle Whisker Catfish recipe.
13. You will require about eighty to one-hundred of these to get your cooking level up to one hundred and seventy five.
14. Between levels one-hundred and twenty five and one-hundred and fifty, go to Shadowprey Village in Desolace and buy the Expert Cookbook.
15. Travel to Booty Bay and purchase a book for your fishing level. talk to old man heming and buy his book called Expert Fishing.
16. When you obtain one-hundred and seventy five cooking, go to Shadowprey Village in Desolace.
17. Talk to Wulan and buy Mithril Head Trout recipe and start fishing on the pier there.
18. Get about sixty of these in order to raise your cooking up to level two-hundred and twenty five.

By the time you have finished the eighteen steps above, you should have leveled up your fishing and cooking to two-hundred and twenty five. This is as far as you can go if you have not reached level 35 yet. If you are level 35 or above, then you will have two quests to complete before you can continue.
